A small format publication, Numero Undici came about following the passing of my nonna as last surviving grandparent in late 2021. Named after my nonna and nonno’s home at 11 Trudewind Rd, it is part cookbook part memoir, and contains a few dozen family recipes both old and new.
Each dish has acted as a vehicle for processing grief, reflecting on my identity, creating excuses to bring people together, and weirdly enough considering parallels between my experiences of cooking and food with my design and education practices.
